Musa (Peace be Upon Him)
Musa was a Prophet of Allah who was known for his leadership and courage. He was the messenger who received the Torah from Allah and was sent to the Pharaoh of Egypt to free the Children of Israel from slavery.
Musa was born to a family of Israelites in Egypt during a time when the Pharaoh had ordered the killing of all male Israelite babies. His mother placed him in a basket and sent him down the Nile River, where he was found by the Pharaoh's wife and raised as a member of the royal family. When he was older, Musa discovered his true identity and became a Prophet of Allah. He was sent to the Pharaoh of Egypt to demand the release of the Children of Israel from slavery, but the Pharaoh refused to listen. Allah sent ten plagues upon Egypt, which finally convinced the Pharaoh to release the Israelites. Musa then led the Israelites across the Red Sea, which was miraculously parted by Allah, and into the wilderness (Quran: Surah Al-An'am 6:84-90).While in the wilderness, Allah revealed the Torah to Musa and he became a great leader and Prophet of Allah. Musa's leadership and courage were tested many times, but he remained steadfast in his faith and obedience to Allah.
